Long comment is long
Sorry for the lack of colors; something went wrong when I was layering and doing the lineart, and by the time I noticed, I would have had to erase all the lineart and start over. And that would have sucked.
SO INSTEAD I just labeled all the color bits. In terms of his clothes, just stick into whatever you think a conservative, vain teacher would wear.
Itsumi mentioned that the 'Weakness' section seemed a bit lacking, so here's a elaboration: Lucas isn't particularly prone to any one power or element. He's an average human who spends most of his time sitting at a desk correcting papers or being evil on a couch. Like any other human, he's vulnerable to bullets, blades, extreme conditions (ice/fire/whatever attacks), doesn't have immunity to anything other than perhaps chicken pox, doesn't have ultra 'mind protection', can't run/fly/teleport superfast, doesn't have a very impressive stamina (can't run a mile in ten minutes, for example), isn't insane supergenius smart, bla bla bla etc etc. In summation, if it can hurt you or me, than it can most certainly hurt him.
Also, for his powers, I want to emphasize that he doesn't CONTROL emotions: He can't make a superhappy person feel depressed and angsty instantaneously. He can, however, subtely influence people. For example, a person who might have been on a super-high might start calming down and thinking that they had no good reason for being so happy. A person who was calm might start feeling a bit off, a bit 'bla', and end up brooding instead of partying. His powers can make people second-guess themselves, and feel insecure, but he can't outright force people to change their minds/burst into tears.
The more negative emotions he absorbs, the more control he has over a person's emotions. If he's running on zero negative emotions, he can, at most, make somebody feel icky. At his most powerful, he can make somebody depressed. He loses any negative emotion build-up by sunrise; he starts new everyday XD
Tenuk is pretty straight-foward; he eats bits of people's nightmares. Each nightmare has fraction of the preson's soul. Depending on the size and strength of the soul, if he eats enough nightmares, he'll eventually consume the entire soul. He can't eat anything else. If nobody's had a nightmare for a while, Tenuk can force somebody to relive a nightmare, though the power isn't as great or as 'fresh' as a real, original nightmare.
Critique the hell out of it XD I need to know where I'm screwing up, or what you personally think could pose a problem
Hm. Even this guy would be better than my current history teacher. Likey ^^
(also thumbs up for being a rounded and realistic character, but I'm being cynical today)
As for the colour problem, you can make a layer on top and set it to Multiply mode (assuming your painting program can do that) to make the lineart show through. Not sure if that's the problem though ^^
In other (less interesting) news, this seems to be the timeline where I haven't finished my character yet, so it'll probably be done during the week.
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0, and Sai (I used Sai for this pic). I just got Sai six days ago; my biggest pet peeve is that it has a perpetually white background, which makes it difficult to discern between transparent, no-color sections, and sections that have been deliberately whitened with the paintbrush tool. [This is what ultimately lead to the color flubup].
Thanks for the advice! I just found Multiply Mode in Elements - I'm going to toy around with it, and see if I can fix this :D
